　　In his treatise “On theNature of the Spirit World”, thegreat scholar Sar-Aggrethmade a tentative classificationof Spirits. He noticed thatgreater Spirits often took theform of majestic birds. It istherefore no surprise that when Wizards of HouseAnima tried to materialize the most powerful energies ofthe Plane of Magic, the resulting beings looked likemajestic eagles of pure mana.

　　Long believed to be a merelegend among the students ofthe arcane, the Simurgh waseventually discovered in thesurreal landscape of the Planeof Magic. It took a long time(and many disastrous failures)before the Wizards were able to understand the natureof this powerful being and bend it to their wills.

　　Arcane Eagles were originally meant to be a meretool for ambitious Wizards, a display of their demiurgicambitions and their ability to turn raw arcane energyinto a living creature. Well, they certainly succeeded atthat! Arcane Eagles started to reproduce somehow andwild specimens can now be encountered in the SpiritWorld. Life always finds a way...

　　Legends are full of powerful birds: the Phoenix, theRokh, the Huma... Like them, the Simurgh of the oldmyths was initially believed to be a unique being, theKing of the Plane of Magic. We now know there areactually many Simurghs, as they are in fact the ultimatestate of existence an Arcane Eagle can achieve.

　　The Arcane Eagle is such a concentrated source of magic that anything close to it issaturated with magic, suffering from magical negative effects permanently.

　　Simurghs are the ultimate magical tool for a Wizard, they serve as amplifier for theirspells, making their master even more powerful spellcasters than they are by themselves.
